In Yukon, there are 26000 humans, roughly 7000 bears and numerous other wild animals...
Here are a few pictures of animals met along the Alaska Highway, the road to the North...
First, the bears, Grizzli or brown bear...
Smaller, less impressive, but,more dangerous for the visitor, actually, for his breakfast: the squirrel
To not be confused with the ground squirrel.
Here is a artic ground squirrel, taken in Tombstone park, close to artic circle around 1500m of altitude.
In the same area, a little bit higher, one can see marmott
Nevertheless, the marmott shown there lives in Keno where we can still see the remains of silver mines still working 50 years ago. Today, remain ruins, a few waggons and rusty rails
In the mountain, one can also find mountain goats and stone sheeps
Above artic circle, in North-west territories, one can also find muskox.
It can resist to very low temperatures. First nations use its hair as they are warm and soft.
