Hello everybody !

All the best to you and your familly for this new year !
By the way, do you know when the orthodox celebrated Christmas ? On the 25th of December; of course, just like the Gregorian calender, that is to say on the 7th of January as per the Julian Calender. So, logically, the new year is on the 14th of January when they celebrate "Staryi novyi god" ("Old new year")
And what about the new year celebration in Japan ? It is actually the 1st of January but of year ... 19 ! Indeed, Japanese count years from the start of their emperor reign. In 2008, it is then the 19th year of Heisi area... "Akeimashite omedeto gozaimasu !" ("Happy new year").
But whatever is the date; all peoples on earth have celebrated winter solstice and days which will become longer !

This month, we introduce to you a new artist : Ludmilla, and her painted wooden plates with very typical eastern european patterns...
