Sandrine, egg shell painter and carver

Sandrine began by painting then came to carving stone and egg shells.
Her original works distinguish from other egg shell carvers works :
She often assocites the carved shells with other elements, including light, placing the shell in a larger and more complex creation.

JAGI, two artists : one painter and a photographer

JAGI is the pseudonym of two artists working together, a painter and a photographer, a son and his father;
The photographer is the father : Jean-Louis Girves and the painter is the son : jean-Luc Girves, who lives in Toulouse.
They developped a very interesting approach : apply macro-photo effects to painting.
But, it is not a simple photo of a painting : The painting it self is created to be photographed!
Discover these artists and their technic...

Jagi, MacroPainting

I have always been very sensitive to shapes and colors. I started to paint after a quick stay in fine art school in Toulouse and following advices from M.Signolles painter in centre artistique Croix-Baragnon in Toulouse.

I was twenty. I tried then to become a writer without finding my place. After a few years of trials and small jobs, painting was obvious. the adventure of macro painting was a surprise for me, a new world to explore.

My works are placed in the "Photography" category, because my technic leads to high resolution picture print generally fixed on a light support easy to place on a wall. Nevertheless this technic make the link between painting and photo as this is macro-photo of gouache painting on various material: ceramic, marble, etc...

First step : The painter creates following his imagination without forgetting the photo to come.

Then, second step : The photographer makes a carefull and very precise photoleading to high resolution print.

Finally, third step, the work itself is manufactured by a specialized company.
Experience lead to use mainly three sizes: 58x45 , 75x50, 70x54 cm, pending the motives on the picture. But, this is not a strict limitation as the resolution of the file is very high.
